She identified Aleksandr on a video released by Ukraine's Security Service of the soldier being questioned by officers. The woman claimed that he served as a sergeant in a special purpose unit in the Russian city of Togliatti until December 2014. He was proposed a job in Russia's Samara region, which was the reason why he gave up military service, she said. Also, she claims she did not know that her husband was outside Russia. Ekaterina says that Ukraine's authorities did not contact her. However, the adviser to Ukraine's Security Service Head Markiyan Lubkivsky said that 'Aleksandrov's relatives did not pick up the phone'. Two Russian servicemen were captured by members of a Ukrainian volunteer battalion near the village of Schastya in Luhansk region on May 16. Recently, Aleksandr Aleksandrov and Yevgeniy Yerofeyev admitted to belonging to a Russian reconnaissance unit based near to the Volga River city of Tolyatti.
