Fukushima (ふくしま , or 福島県) is name of prefecture in the central part of Honshu, Japan.

Fukushima got the world-wide scandalous glory due to the Fukushima disaster after the explosions of several reactors at the Northern (and oldest) of the Fukushima nuclear plants (Fukushima dai ichi) in 2011. The official map of isolines of the nuclear contamination after that disaster lated for two months, causing doubts about the good will and honesty of the representatives of the TEPCO and the Government; the link to the map of these isolines does not appear at the official site of the Fukushima administration.
