2022.02.26.Protest at Tokyo refers to the Putin world war, namely, to the escalation to the full-scale invasion into Ukraine, bombing of Kiev and other Ukrainian cities, hundreds Ukrainians killed and thousands Russian occupants killed.
Several people at Tokyo afraid, that their country may become next victim of the Russian aggression. The protesters try to attract attention of the professionals to the problem and warn the Russian officials that they commit the military crime against humanity.
There are reports about big rally near metro Shibuya[1].
But also, there was less crowded protest near the Russian embassy. That protest is described below.
Embassy
Near the Russian Embassy, there were more cops than protesters. Anyway, thanks to the police for keeping the order:
no one Russian diplomat had been murdered during the action.
Some pics are collected in this section.
Historic context
In parallel to the protest mentioned above, the following petition is observed:
https://secure.avaaz.org/campaign/en/stop_the_war_loc/
To governments everywhere:
"We stand with the people of Ukraine and Russia who do not want this war.
Putin’s invasion is not just an attack on Ukraine. It is an attack on freedom. An attack on democracy. An attack on truth.
We urge you to respond with unity, holding Putin’s regime in Moscow and its associates, cheerleaders and supporters to account by imposing far-reaching sanctions, and doing all you can to stop the war in Ukraine.
In the face of fear, choose courage. In the face of division, choose unity.
And in the face of aggression, choose peace."
Add your voice to this global open letter, and share it everywhere. When we reach enough signatures, Avaaz will publish our call in international media.
In this hour of need, let's show that the whole world stands with the people of Ukraine!
